Fomm Ir-Rih – (Ref: pfm140191)

A lovely palette of earthy colors, Mediterranean blue skies and Maltese lagoon blues in this panoramic image of Fomm Ir-Rih bay. Fomm ir-Rih is one of the wildest and most secluded beaches in Malta The Bay lies near Bahrija and it is the most isolated and wildest beach on Malta but also one of the most beautiful ones. Fomm Ir-Rih is pebbly and is favourite among snorkelers, divers and to people who like secluded beaches. Fomm Ir-Rih Bay’s remote beach offers fantastic views of cliffs, valleys, deep blue Mediterranean Sea as well as peace and tranquillity and is well worth a visit. Fomm...

Ghajn Tuffieha and Gnejna Sea Inlets (Ref: pfm110043)

A fantastic panorama view of the two sea inlets at Ghajn Tuffieha Bay (tat-tarag) and Gnejna and the clay hills that separate them. Ghajn Tuffieha is generally translated to “The Apple’s Eye”, however (and I stand to go against general perception here) as a small kid I remember getting my hands on a very old book of fables which contained a short story of fairies living on the small island of Malta in a place where a magical apple tree grew right in the middle of a spring of water. In Maltese the “The Apple’s Spring” is also translated to...

Fort Madalena – (Ref: pfm140189)

A panoramic view from the highest point of Fort Madalena in Madliena. Fort Madalena is a fortress built during the Reign of Queen Victoria and forms part of massive defence lines. The fort was built in two phases, the first was the pentagonal shaped fort built as part of the Victoria Lines defences [1878-1880], and the second was the addition of a 9.2 inch coastal defence battery. The 9.2 inch battery was added to the seaward side of the Fort. Fort Madalena was later occupied by the Royal Air Force and used as a communications post. The buildings added on top of the original Fort structure...

Mdina by Night – (Ref: pfm140188)

A long exposure panoramic shot of the Silent City of Mdina by night as taken from the bottom of Mtarfa hill. The history of Mdina traces back more than 4000 years. According to tradition it was here that in 60 A.D. that the Apostle St. Paul is said to have lived after being shipwrecked on the Islands. Furthermore it is said that St. Paul resided inside the grotto know as Fuori le Mura (outside the city walls) now known as St. Paul’s Grotto in Rabat. Lamp lit by night and referred to as “the silent city”, Mdina is fascinating to visit for its timeless atmosphere as well as...

Chinese Garden of Serenity – (Ref: pfm140187)

A long exposure panoramic image of the magical Chinese Garden of Serenity in Santa Lucia. The Chinese Garden of Serenity is located in Santa Lucija, and was inaugurated on July 7, 1997. Its layout presents various philosophical ideas traditionally symbolised in Chinese gardens and invariably offers a unique spiritual connection with nature. Chinese gardens are landscaped to represent a complete world of balance, and are intended to encourage people to roam freely with their inner thoughts, offering spontaneity and surprise rather than symmetry. Rocks and water are the two important elements,...
