Mosta Rotunda (Ref: 110078)
The piazza in front of the Mosta Rotunda which hosts the famous third largest free standing dome in Europe. The church failed to explode during an air raid during World War II when a dud bomb fell through the dome during mass.

A typical Maltese ‘Girna’ with a dome-shaped roof in Mensija Valley. The Girna (stone hut) was used as a shelter from the harsh Mediterranean sun by farmers. The one in the photo above has since been demolished (through vandalism or natural causes), but has recently been rebuilt again.
